The Burkhart~Hedrick Engagement Shoot

I have the privilege of shooting Amanda and JB's wedding next month. We took advantage of the weather this afternoon and took some engagement pictures. Click on the images for a larger view.
I'll be posting a few more of the shots HERE as I process them.

Dropping the ball

So I started this blog to inspire me to post more pictures but it's been over a month since my last post. Here's my latest project, portrait shooting with a backdrop. I got my hands on a black velvet backdrop and have been toying around to find the best lighting and settings so that it blends in and isn't noticed. Here are some of my better results. It's a good thing Jacqueline loves to have her picture taken. The last shot was taken under the bridge at the Student Union. I thought the lines were interesting.

week four

School has really been ramping up and I didn't have time to get out and shoot that much this week. I did run down to Eureka Springs for a Traveler assignment and shot a few buildings, the one below is the Basin Hotel. I also really like the fire hydrant in front of the biochemistry building and keep telling myself to bring the camera one day, so here it is.

Week Three, on assignment

I covered an on campus event for the Traveler last Friday at the Student Union. There was an international dance competition that included everything from Ancient Mongolian traditional to Break dancing. Here are a few of my faves for the paper.

Second week... Headshots.

So a friend of mine asked me to take some shots of her for an acting workshop she will be attending. I'm used to taking portraits from my time at Sears, but I haven't done it much out of that controlled environment. I got some cheap white fabric from Walmart for the full body shots and used our green and yellow walls for the head shots. I even dropped one of my flashes on the hardwood floor and broke it. The first few shots of Jacqueline were for practice, I think they turned out quite nicely.
